FC Mobile Beta Star Scout in the Limited Beta

Testers opening the August 2026 Limited Beta keep asking where Star Scout went and whether the version in the test app is the same as the live Extra Time tab. Short answer: the Guest build includes a Scout loop, creators recorded it next to Gauntlet Mode, and it is not a way to move a 140 OVR icon onto your October club. This page is the beta Scout manual. EA’s official Limited Beta article names Game Plans, Gauntlet, and four PlayStyles. It does not publish a Scout token table. What follows is what creators actually tapped in the separate app (com.ea.gp.fifamobilebeta), plus a warning so you do not mix it with the live Extra Time Star Scout that uses Extra Time Tokens.

What testers see in the Guest app

After the starter packs, the beta menu still has familiar live-game furniture: challenges, star signings, and a Star Scout entry. RkReddy’s 26 August walkthrough (the same session that covers Game Plans) opens Scout, takes a free first reveal, reads a clue (example: three-star weak foot), refreshes the slot, and sees a short list of possible names (Lautaro Martínez, Carles Puyol, Rio Ferdinand in that clip). He then stops because he has no shards. That is the loop: clue → optional refresh → pay shards if you want the mystery item.

Indonesian coverage of the same week calls the return of Star Scout one of the four things to feel in the 27-themed UI, next to four saved formations and Gauntlet Kickoff. Comments under Scout shorts ask whether the 40,000-shard pull is in the beta; other comments say yes, it is in the test and expected in FC Mobile 27. Treat 40k as a creator example, not an EA price list. Guest currency is disposable. Do not grind as if the card survives 13 September 2026.

How to play a Scout run without lighting shards on fire

1. Open Star Scout from the beta hub, not from live Extra Time.
2. Take the free clue. Write it down (position, nation, weak foot, program).
3. If the clue is garbage for your squad building plan, refresh instead of buying more clues.
4. If the clue matches a hole (you need a Rapid winger, you got LW + icon), only then consider spending shards.
5. Remember appearance limits. A Scout striker you cannot field in the next Gauntlet round is a museum piece.

Creators also complain the new Scout feels “butchered” versus the old highest-OVR hunter. That is useful feedback for EA forums, not a reason to empty the Guest wallet. File the feeling on the links hub forums with the clue you saw and the shard price the UI showed.

Shards in the beta versus live

Gauntlet pays Stars that testers describe exchanging toward rewards; some videos loosely say shards. Live FC Mobile Star Shards are a different pile sitting on the linked EA account. Codes never deposit into Guest Scout. If you redeem AUFGEHTS on redeem.fcm.ea.com, check the live mailbox, then come back to this sandbox.

Do not import live Extra Time math (150 / 250 / 350 token clue ladders from the live Extra Time article) into the beta and call it official. Different tab, different currency, different account. If the Guest UI shows a number, believe the Guest UI.

How Scout ties to PlayStyles

A mystery item is only as good as the identity on the card. A walkout with Trickster + Finesse Expert is a winger you can actually test; a high OVR with nothing but generic shooting is a PlayStyles miss. Before you tap buy, glance at the PlayStyles tier list and ask whether this card duplicates an identity you already burn in Gauntlet.

Game Plans do not spawn extra Scout cards. They only rearrange the ones you still have appearances for. Scout is a faucet. Rotation is the tank.

What not to confuse this with

• Live Extra Time Star Scout — mystery player, up to six clues, Extra Time Tokens. That is the live client after you close the beta.
• Star Signings — the usual pick board testers still saw in the beta menu. Different button.
• Numero / anniversary events — live-season planning for the 27 launch window. Not a Guest Scout table.
• APK “Scout unlock” mods — malware. Use Play Store or iOS TestFlight.

When the test ends, every Scout pull in Guest is gone. The only thing you keep is whether clue-and-refresh felt fair. Write that down. That is the job of a Limited Beta.
