FC Mobile Beta Limited Beta Tier Lists
How we rank PlayStyles and formations while the test window is still open.
The FC Mobile Limited Beta (also called FC Mobile 27 Beta) is a short test of new gameplay systems, not a live-club patch. Rankings on this hub exist to help testers spend that window well: 25 August to 13 September 2026 (UTC), Guest login only, no account linking, and no progress carry-over. The app package is com.ea.gp.fifamobilebeta. Because the Guest profile is disposable, these lists favor identity, role fit, and mid-match flexibility over long-term card investment.
How to read the rankings
Every grade on this wiki is a role grade, not a card grade. A PlayStyle marked S is strong because the action it boosts happens often in Head to Head and Division Rivals, or because Gauntlet rounds force you to lean on that action. A formation marked S is strong because it holds a Game Plan slot without collapsing when you change mentality. If a player item looks high OVR but carries a C-tier PlayStyle for your plan, the item is still a B-tier fit.
Read child pages as two lenses:
- The PlayStyles tier list ranks the original 18 PlayStyles plus the four Limited Beta additions.
- The Formations tier list ranks shapes you should save across up to four Game Plans.
Use those pages with the mechanic explainers: the PlayStyles guide and the Game Plans guide. The hub is the map; those articles are the rules.
S/A/B methodology
We use a three-band scale on this hub and a four-band scale on the child lists.
S — default pick. The tool still works if your Guest squad is uneven, your opponent is better, or a House Rule removes a gimmick. Rapid, Clinical Finisher, and Anticipate usually sit here in H2H because dribble acceleration, box finishing, and standing tackles happen every match. 4-4-2 sits here among formations because EA’s official Game Plans screenshot uses it and because two strikers survive mentality swings.
A — system pick. Strong when the rest of the squad supports it. Tiki Taka is A if your midfield actually chains ground passes. 4-3-3 Holding is A if your wingers can stretch a back line. Dead Ball is A when you win fouls in the D; it is not a universal striker trait.
B — situational pick. Worth a slot when a Gauntlet objective, a set-piece House Rule, or a specific Game Plan mentality calls for it. Penalty Expert, Chip Shot, and 3-5-2 often live here. They are not traps; they are narrow.
Child pages add C for tools that rarely decide a match unless you build around them (Rush Out keepers in some H2H styles, Precision Header without a crossing plan).
We do not rank by OVR. Guest beta items are test pieces. We rank by how often the boosted action occurs, how well Gold (level 2) widens the gap over Silver (level 1), and how painful it is to lose that player when Gauntlet appearance limits bench them.
Why the beta meta shifts
Treat every list as a snapshot, not a season-long bible.
The Limited Beta is a standalone test app. It is not a patch on live FC Mobile. Testers in Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, India, Romania, Argentina, Colombia, and Indonesia can install from the Play Store; iOS testers need a TestFlight invite from official EA social accounts. That population is small, and the build can change while the window is open.
In-game purchases are disabled. There are no rewarded ads. You cannot buy your way into a stacked club, so meta here means what the Guest starter pool plus pack luck allows, not what the live market allows.
Gauntlet Mode further breaks live-game habits. Each round has match objectives, Traits, and House Rules. Each player item has a limited number of appearances. A formation that asks the same three stars to play every match will fail even if those stars are S-tier in H2H. Rank PlayStyles for Gauntlet with depth in mind: you need a second Rapid winger and a second Anticipate centre-back, not one perfect XI.
Game Plans add another moving part. You can store up to four formation-plus-mentality pairs (Ultra Attacking, Attacking, Balanced, Defensive, Ultra Defensive) and switch them during a match. A formation that is S as a primary Balanced plan can be B as your only plan if you never prepare a defensive shape.
How to use both child lists together
Start with identity, then shape.
- Pick the PlayStyles you want to feel — finishing, passing, dribble burst, or tackle timing — from the PlayStyles tier list.
- Choose a primary formation that gives those players natural lanes from the Formations tier list.
- Fill the remaining Game Plan slots with a chase shape and a protect shape so you can react after the first goal.
- For Gauntlet, duplicate the identity across different items so appearance limits do not wipe the plan.
If you are still installing the test app, read how to download and the getting started checklist first. Controls matter as much as ranks; a Gold Finesse Expert is wasted if you never trigger a finesse shot. See controls.
What these lists do not cover
We do not rank live Ultimate Team market prices, because codes and coins on the live club do not touch the Guest profile. Redeem pages such as the codes hub still matter for your live club — AUFGEHTS, NUMEROUNO, and CLEANSLATE were the late-August / 1 September 2026 examples — but they do not change a beta rank. We also do not treat rumours about live rank-up item reworks as official Limited Beta notes. Rank-up currency is a live-game topic on the Rank Up guide.
Player-item depth, OVR, and Guest squad construction live on the Players Hub and the squad building page. Patch context lives on the Updates Hub, including Limited Beta notes and what is new. Access questions belong on beta access and the tools hub. Official social destinations sit on links. For mode rules, keep Gauntlet Mode next to the formation list so House Rules do not surprise you mid-round.
A practical testing loop
Play five H2H matches with one S-tier formation and write down which PlayStyles actually fired. Then play one Gauntlet round without repeating your three favourite items. If the grade you trusted only showed up in the first match, demote it for Gauntlet and keep it for Rivals. That loop is the whole point of a Limited Beta rank list: short, honest, and cheap to revise before 13 September 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers testers actually search for.
How should I read S, A, and B on this hub?
S is a default pick that still works on an uneven Guest squad. A needs a supporting system. B is situational for a House Rule, mentality, or objective. Child pages add C for niche tools. Start with the PlayStyles tier list and the Formations tier list.
Why can a Limited Beta rank change so quickly?
The window runs 25 August to 13 September 2026 (UTC) on a standalone Guest app. Builds can shift, the tester pool is small, and Gauntlet appearance limits punish one-team habits. Recheck Limited Beta notes after each patch.
Do live redeem codes change these tier lists?
No. Codes at the EA redemption site apply to the live FC Mobile account, not the Guest beta profile. Use the codes hub for your live club and keep beta ranks based on PlayStyles and formations you can actually field.
Should I copy live Ultimate Team formations into the beta?
Use them as a starting point only. Game Plans let you store four formation-plus-mentality pairs and switch in-match. Pair this hub with the Game Plans guide so your chase and protect shapes are ready.
Where do I learn the mechanics behind a rank?
PlayStyle effects sit in the PlayStyles guide. Formation switching sits in the Game Plans guide. Appearance limits sit in Gauntlet Mode. This hub only grades how often those tools decide matches.
